York Family History Fair 30 June 2007

Fast approaching is the York Family History fair this Saturday - BIG YORK - as it is often called by family historians in the UK. This year, there are worries because, despite being the end of June, this is hardly high summer.

On the 25 June the north of England, particularly Sheffield and Doncaster, just a few miles south of York suffered terrible flooding after 4 inches of rain fell in 24 hours.

York has a big river but often floods so the flood defences have been improved in recent years and York has been OK.

We are hoping that people will still flock to the family history fair - it will be lovely and dry in the Knavesmire Stand and there will be loads of things to take your mind off the weather!

Family Tree Folk will be there for the first time, so come and say hello and buy someone you know a family history gift or card from our range.
